Still scared of the vacuum

So last night I vacuumed our living room while Austin was in his bedroom playing. Any time he is around the vacuum, he screams until it is turned off and put away unless he is in another room or he is in his high chair. However, he came out of his bedroom and played in the same room that I was vacuuming in with no problem. It was strange for him to do this but I figured that maybe since he came to the noise on his own terms, it was okay with him. Then today I pulled out the vacuum to do the dining room and he was back to his old screaming self, but while he was screaming he still came near the vacuum. Weird...
Maybe he's getting used to it and wants to explore it.

Hi J,

Helena is still scared of the vacuum. She instinctively runs to the room the furthest from where we are vacuuming and shuts the door. She has improved over the years - we did a lot of desensitizing by having her touch and even push the vacuum while it was not running. But she still just does not like the noise.

Chloe hates the vacuum..... Don't know if it is just the age or what, but she absolutely hates it.
